Southern Indoor Championships, Lee Valley, January 11 & 12

Simon Baker reports that three Heathside Juniors took part in the Southern Indoor Athletics Championships at Lee Valley over the weekend.

Mia Rosen, in her first indoor championships, produced a great run to win the U13G 800m title ahead of Isabelle Kyson of Woodford.  Her time of 2:29.93 was a championships best and the fastest by a Heathside U13G either Indoor or outdoor by 5 sec. It is a new national leading time and it would have been the 2nd fastest recorded last year.

Benjy Bediako won two medals with a silver in the 800m in a new club record and bronze in the Long Jump.  Benjamin Folarin came 2nd in his heat but his semi-final time of 7.51 sec was not enough to reach the final
