Ultra London Trail 55 22 June
Steve Pennington ( front pic ) took part in , and won, the Ultra London trail 55k race in a course record and by the huge margin of 15minutes – in which over 400 competitors were willing to put themselves through such a hard course. The route is described as “ a mix of trails, footpaths, parks, disused railway lines, woodland and more “
as Steve describes ;
“ I did the Ultra London on Saturday 22 June, rolling route with over 2,000 ft of climbing and mostly on trails. It follows the southern Capital Ring from Woolwich to Richmond.
I was over the moon with a win and took almost 15mins off the course record.” Well done Steve !

Ranelagh Harriers Richmond 10K 23 June
Andy Barnes was Heathside’s sole representative in this race, finished as 7th overall and 2nd V35, and reports :
“ Sunday was the Ranelagh Richmond 10k, part of the Rob Jackson series - I was looking out for other Heathsiders but didn't see any! I did this race 2 years ago and really like it - a small friendly club race on a fast course that attracts a decent standard. I was aiming for a pb but it was a bit warm so didn't manage (or it might have been the 40th birthday party I was at the night before) ..”
