Winning start to Met League campaign


Simon Baker sends in this report on a very successful start to our Met League campaign at Claybury

“ The Clubs' defence of the Met League started on saturday in autumnal sunshine.  The women started as they finished last year winning their race with Rebecca Piggott 2nd as did the Junior Women, The Senior Men were 3rd as were the U13 Boys and U11 Girls with the Junior Men 4th.”

The other highlight of the weekend was another great run and club record for Seyfu over the 10mile distance, breaking Tom Aldred’s time from 2016, to take 7th place at the prestigious Great South Run

moving on to the other road races, and there was plenty of action over the longer distances of 10mile and Half marathon, starting with a good turnout at the Cabbage Patch 10, where on a bright sunny morning Gareth led the team home at this long running event . There were also good 65 min and below performances from the 2 Matts, Pete and DomInic, plus from Sara and Monika ( pictured ), and Leo ran very competitively after doing the Met League the day before !
