UK Athletics Championships, Manchester 8-9 July
Simon Baker reports on Cian O’Donnell’s performances at the British championships :
“ Cian O'Donnell competed in both the 100m and 200m at the Senior British Championships at the weekend. Luckily his races weren't conducted in the downpour that impacted the 100m final.
He registered 2 season best performances with his 100m 0.03s quicker and 200m 0.24s than his SAL performances for the club in June.”

Sothern Athletics League
Div2 North East, Dartford 9 July
The club recorded a 5th place overall finish at the latest SAL meeting, unfortunately as Simon notes, there were numerous events without a Heathside competitor
“A much reduced team headed to Dartford to compete in the 3rd of 4 SAL meetings. Low numbers mean't we did not compete in 20 of the events making a low final position inevitable. There were event wins for James Hamblin (SM HT) and Magdeline Paitoo (SW 200m).
The last meeting will be at Thurrock on 19th August “

LiCC Meeting 2#, Stone X, 9 July
“Clashing with Southern league fixtures the LICC meeting struggled for numbers and hence atmosphere despite the grand stadium backdrop. This is however the only open offering a full range of events and hopefully the two remaining meetings this summer will be better attended.
Thomas Wassermann took part in the 100mH and Elkie Baker competed in the Discus producing a series of 6 throws over 33m with the furthest 35.27m a 1.46m PB and the first U15G in the UK to throw over 35m this season.”
