Sunday brought part two of the weekend’s cross-country fest, with 47 Heathsiders (21 ladies and 26 men) braving the cold weather to run in Trent Park in the second race in the Sunday league cross-country. Seventeen of them had run the day before in the Met league, making their performance in the tough conditions all the more impressive.

In part 2 of this week’s report, we have some outstanding performances in the hot and hilly Trent Park Triffic Trail 10k, where Heathside ladies won a prize in almost every category, great performances in memory of George Stewart at the Hillingdon triathlon and another successful record-breaking day for Pete Crockford.

After a week’s break for Heathside’s race reporters, we now bring you 2 weeks of results, covering an historic run by Michael Stocks, representing England in his debut at 100km, stunning PBs and 5km times from U20 men Liam Garrett and Jem O’Flaherty, and races ranging from 5K to half marathons, as numerous Heathsiders put the finishing touches to their marathon preparations.

Months of hard training and long runs finally came to an end on Sunday for at least 42 Heathsiders, who ran in the London marathon. Cheered on by Heathside’s bobble hat rabblers and the unique London public, there were great performances and PBs, and an unforgettable day was had by all.
