Schools International XC, Half Marathons, and Throwfest
SIAB International Cross Country Falkirk 23 Mar
Simon Baker reports :
“ Back in action a week after finishing 8th at the English Schools XC Championships, Charlie Nicolson wrapped up his Cross Country season, which had also seen him win an individual bronze at the National Championships, by representing English Schools in the annual International match hosted by Scotland. Charlie finished 10th, and as the 6th scorer in the team won a team gold medal.”

Liverpool Half Marathon & 10 Miler 23 Mar
Katie Brown achieved a top 3 place and sub 80 minute time at the Liverpool Half Marathon

Caroline White ran the 10 miler which was run in conjunction with the Half, and finished first in her Vet category, as she reports ;
“ I ran the Liverpool 10 on Sunday 23rd March. Started and ended under the iconic Liver building. It was part of the main race - the Liverpool Half which was a massive and really well organised event of 12,000 runners. `My time was 1.25.52 - first vw65, 35th woman “

Simon reports again :
“ Now the indoors are finished, the Track and Field season has started with plenty of Open Meetings. Elkie Baker took part at the Throwfest hosted by Shaftesbury. Despite a heavy rainstorm drenching the circle and making conditions treacherous she threw 35.05m to finish 3rd behind Sophie Mace (TVH) the UK's No2 SW. Elkie's throw secured English schools qualifying standard and ranked her 2nd UK U17W at this early stage of the season.”

92 Heathsiders participated in Parkruns over the weekend ; fastest time went to Tsegaye Berhane 16.00 at Lordship Rec; other 1st places went to Sam Macaulay ( Finsbury Park 16.55 ) & Tom Fancett ( Highbury Fields 17.19 )
Phillip Jordan at Leavesdon Country 18.51, Genevieve Weston ( Finsbury Park 20.34 ) & Sonia Connor ( Highbury fields 21.24 ) achieved 2nd places
Other times of note were for Ed Samuel 16.43 at Battersea & Jonny Forsyth 17.18 at Finsbury Park
